Matches are coming thick and fast in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and next up is the riveting battle between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans on Tuesday.

Both the teams started the tournament on different notes. While the defending champions, Gujarat won their opening contest against Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals got thrashed by Lucknow Super Giants.

Now, the two teams are up against each other, so let's have a look at the 4 key player battles to watch out for.

David Warner vs Mohammad Shami

An interesting battle to watch out for. A world-class seam bowler in Mohammad Shami up against a world-class batter in David Warner. In 6 IPL seasons, the Warner has had the upper hand over the Indian spearhead.

The DC captain has scored 99 runs in 68 deliveries, at 145.6 Shami has only dismissed him twice, and will have his work cut off against Warner. GT's best bet at the top of bowling department is Shami and he needs to get the big wicket of Warner.

Shubman Gill vs Chetan Sakariya

Two young guns collide in an epic battle between bat and ball. The emerging Sakariya will be up against the dynamic Gill. Sakariya is expected to open the bowling for Delhi Capitals and his left-arm angle can trouble Shubman Gill.

The head to head record is slightly in favour of Sakariya. Gill has only scored 15 runs off his 15 balls, and a strike-rate of 100 in a T20 game is not too impressive.

Hardik Pandya vs Axar Patel

Left-arm spinner against a right-handed batter is always an interesting battle. Axar is a clever bowler and Hardik is a brilliant power-hitter, and the match-up is even between the two players.

Hardik has scored 18 runs off his 17 deliveries, with a strike-rate of just above 100. However, Axar has only dismissed him once, and has also put a break on the scoring rate. This battle right here could decide the fate of the match.

Rilee Rossouw vs Rashid Khan

DC's new signee, Rilee Rossouw will be up against arguably the best spinner in town, Rashid Khan. There is no escape when you face Rashid and Rossouw has experienced it first hand.

The southpaw has only scored 50 runs in 53 balls against Rashid, but most importantly, the spinner has picked his wickets 4 times.
