In a big blow to the home side, Bangladesh's Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out of the one-off Test against Ireland. Taskin suffered from a side strain during the Ireland limited overs series and as a precautionary measure has been taken off the Test match.

The pacer has been injury prone for quite some time now and the gruelling schedule of Bangladesh team hasn't helped his cause a bit.

Post the T20I series against Ireland, Taskin was not seen in the practice and the 28-year-old has been taken for rehabilitation

No replacement has been announced as of yet, but the Bangladesh side have a lot to ponder upon regarding the replacement. Chief selector, Abdul Razzak stated that Bangladesh could feature three pacers in the playing XI, namely - Ebadot Hossain, Shoriful Islam and Khaled Ahmed.

Talking about the white-ball series between the two teams, Bangladesh clinched the ODI series 2-0, while they were victorious 2-1 in the T20I series.

The only Test match commences from April 4.
