The Royal Challengers Bengaluru had a dramatic IPL 2024 season. From a below par start to a dreamy qualification into the play-offs, the journey was nothing sort of historic. However, even after the whole-hearted attempt of the players, the team could not lay their hands on the coveted trophy. As far as the fans are concerned the wait for their first trophy has now stretched to 17 years.

Much like the other teams, the RCB management will also look to rebuild their squad. But a few players from the 2024 set up might be a part of the this rebuild. Here are three players that RCB will retain ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction.

1.Virat Kohli

Well, the first name in the retention list is a no-brainer. Virat Kohli has been a part of the RCB since the inception of the Indian Premier League. The Indian legend has now become an indispensable and unseperable part of this franchise. There is no doubt that the RCB management will retain Virat Kohli as their first retention.

2. Will Jacks

The English all-rounder did not have the best of starts to the IPL 2024. However, as the tournament progressed, Will Jacks picked up his form and become a very important part of the playing XI. There are chances that the management might have to choose between Glenn Maxwell and Will Jacks as one of their retentions. Well if there are five options, they might keep both these players. However, the first choice retention for RCB should be Jacks, if they are looking to build a team for the future.

3. Rajat Patidar

Much like Will Jacks, Rajat Patidar did not have the best of starts in IPL 2024. However, he started gathering form in the second half of the tournament and his contributions with the bat was one of the main reasons behind RCB's dramatic run. With Indian middle-order batters being priceless in the league, RCB will surely try and keep Patidar as a part of their core.
