India are all set to play five-match Test series against England. It will start on June 20, and the visitors are going with a relatively inexperienced squad. There are some news names in the side, while some players are making their comeback. One of them is Kuldeep Yadav, who was not part of the Australia series due to an injury.

Bharat Arun Backs Kuldeep Yadav To Deliver In English Conditions

The left-arm wrist spinner is known for his wicket-taking ability and is doing well in white-ball formats. Now, with the retirement of Ravichandran Ashwin, there are chances of Kuldeep Yadav getting more game-time in the longest format. The former bowling coach of India, Bharat Arun has also put his weight behind spinner's inclusion in the playing XI, giving number of reasons for the same.

Bharat Arun mentioned that wrist spinners have always been effective in England and added that the dampness on the wickets would help Kuldeep. The ex-bowling coach also stated that Kuldeep can also use the rough that bowlers create during the course of a Test match and expressed confidence in spinner's skills to use English conditions to his advantage just like the great Shane Warne used to do.

“Yes, I would play Kuldeep Yadav. Even if not in the first innings, second innings, he would be a handful to deal with. Wrist spinners have always been effective, especially in England. Maybe even initially, when there is a little bit of dampness in the wicket, there is help for those wrist spinners. And also, the roughs that the bowlers create. But again, using the rough is a separate art. It’s not just bowling. I think somebody who instantly comes to our mind is Shane Warne. I think Kuldeep has got enough skills to be successful in England.”

India have gone with a pace-heavy bowling attack. Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar are the two other spinners in the Indian squad. They hold the advantage of their all-round skills over Kuldeep Yadav, and Jadeja with his experience could be preferred if India decide to go with only one spinner.
