A huge revelation came recently when former RCB legend, AB de Villiers, who extended his support as he advocated the return of captain Virat Kohli for the upcoming season of the IPL 2025. Being the team has lost Faf du Plessis, who isn't retained from the side anymore, the whole team is into a vacuum going into the season. Following the departure of Faf du Plessis, who was not retained by RCB, the team finds itself without a leader heading into the new season.
While RCB has some promising players, none seem to fit the bill, except Kohli, according to AB de Villiers. Kohli, who has previously led the franchise, made headlines as he was reportedly interested in taking leadership of the Bengaluru-based franchise.

De Villiers, known for leaking information before the actual news source, once again made a remark about Kohli. His latest comment that Kohli is the "only option" for RCB's captaincy while citing Kohli's leadership abilities and how much he loves the game is grabbing attention as it hints towards the possible return of King Kohli.
“Friends, I think Virat Kohli is the only option [for RCB’s captaincy choice). He is near the end of his career, more inspired than ever before. Till the time he gets the form, and score runs, we are used to watching him play match-winning innings. It’s like a swansong,” AB de Villiers said.

Kohli, who captained RCB from 2013 to 2021, was close to winning the title in 2016 but lost in the final. After relinquishing the captaincy in 2021, he concentrated more on his batting. With IPL 2025 just around the corner, de Villiers' comments have sparked excitement about the possibility of Kohli making a return to the helm of RCB.
