Ravindra Jadeja finished the India vs South Africa, Guwahati Test as India's highest wicket-taker with match figures of 6/156 in his 56.3 overs, while the visitors dominated in both innings.

South Africa's lower-middle order contributions from Senuran Muthusamy (109), Kyle Verrreynne (45) and Marco Jansen (93) guided them to a formidable score of 489 runs in the first innings, before the Jansen-led attack took India out of the game, by them a 288-run first innings lead.

Notably, by far the best spinner of the series, Simon Harmer, once again outbowled the Indian bowlers, with his 3/64 (27) in the first innings, finding much more assistance from the wicket.

Jadeja opens up on the Guwahati pitch

Reacting to India's first innings batting display during the Day 4 press conference, Jadeja opened up on how the pitch played during their innings, and that the toss played a huge factor in the match.

"In the first two days, when we were bowling, there was not even a scratch on the pitch. From Day 3 onwards, it started to grip a bit. If we had won the toss, we would have been in a better position. At home, if India wins, then that's normal. If we lose, that's a big thing. But opponents, too come here prepared," said Jadeja, as quoted by RevSportz.

At the brink of Stumps Day 4, Harmer once again bowled a peach to KL Rahul, who played an ordinary shot, leading to his early dismissal.

Harmer and Jansen are the current top-wicket takers of the series with 12 scalps each, as India need 522 more runs to win the match on Day 5 after losing both openers.
