Australia thrashed India by 209 runs in the recently concluded WTC Final on Sunday at the Oval. The men in blue needed 280 runs to win with seven wickets in hand on Day 5, with Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane in the middle.

The duo did manage to play out the first half an hour, but Australia's Scott Boland got the big wicket of Virat Kohli in the 8th over of the day, sparking a collapse which paved their way to the title. India got bowled out for 234 runs, conceding yet another defeat in the WTC Final.

Team India, comprising the likes of Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane, failed yet again to bring the silverware. Following the defeat, many questions have been raised on the group of players not being able to deliver when it mattered the most.

Sharma hints at possible changes in the Test squad

This was the second edition of the WTC Final, and both finals were played in England in June. After the final defeat, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma opened up on the possible changes in the Indian Test team in the coming future.

"There are lot of guys, there are lot of players who are doing really well in our domestic cricket as well. We will see where the next WTC final is being played as well, where we play; based on that we will decide what sort of players we want to get ready and what kind of cricket we want to play,” Sharma said in the post match press conference.

However, there has been constant chaos about the place of some of the senior members in the side. There is no doubt fans want to see some new faces come in for the next cycle of the championship.

India will get a month-long break from here, following which they will fly to West Indies for a full-fledged tour that will include two Test matches as well. There is a high chance we get to see some significant changes in the Test squad facing the men in maroon on their own shores.
