On Tuesday, Pakistan succumbed to a narrow 14-run defeat in their second warm-up clash against Australia in Hyderabad. However, besides Pakistan's loss, an incident that grabbed a million eyeballs was Shadab Khan entering the field for toss instead of regular skipper Babar Azam. 

Although Babar batted and fielded in the match, Pakistan decided to test Shadab's leadership skills, as he went out for the toss alongside Australian skipper Pat Cummins. 

When asked to clarify about Babar's participation in the game, Shadab stated that as the captain, he would make the stylish batter bat, field and even carry the drinks, albeit in a jovial manner. 

As Shadab had said, Babar fielded towards the backend of the Australian innings before going out to bat at number six. After Pakistan lost four early wickets, the stylish batter rescued them from a precarious position, hammering 90 runs off just 59 deliveries with the help of eleven fours and two sixes. 

However, after he retired, Pakistan lost their way, eventually losing the match by 14 runs. Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Nawaz slammed blistering fifties but their valiant knocks could only reduce the deficit. 

Pakistan will kickstart their 2023 World Cup campaign against the Netherlands in Hyderabad on October 6.
