Shreyas Iyer, captain of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), won the toss and opted to bat first in match No. 31st against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 16, 2024, at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. 

Shreyas Iyer did something unusual during the toss against Lucknow Super Giants (IPL 2024) at Eden Gardens. 

The home skipper was given the onus to flip the coin and before spinning the coin he kissed it and further flipped it. The trick worked against in the favour of the franchise, they won the toss and opted to field first. 


Shreyas Iyer's 'Flying Kiss' On The Coin Before The Toss

Shreyas Iyer has a good toss history record in the Indian Premier League 2024, he began this after losing the toss against Sunrisers Hyderabad and from then on he started kissing the coin before flipping it. 

In today's match, before the toss against RR, he kissed the coin but this time Iyer mentioned to Sanjay Manjrekar that it was a "Flying Kiss".  

"It wasn't a kiss, it was a flying kiss, flying kiss maybe (on the coin before the toss). I wanted to bowl as well. I saw in the last ball, the ball was seaming a bit and lot to offer to the bowlers. Yeah, he [Sunil Narine] is an imperative part of our bowling attack. He is hard to read and has a poker face all throughout. We want him to perform the way he has been and he is a great asset. We have the same team," Shreyas Iyer said.
