In a recent interaction with bcci.tv, KL Rahul revealed his moments before going for a press conference. In the process, Rahul also shared his most nervous moments in a press conference which he gave earlier in his career.

KL Rahul has been one of the most promising players for India in recent times in terms of consistency, however, his recent push down in batting order has pointed fingers at the management and the coach as well. With KL Rahul struggling with his form down the order, he spilt a few beans on his struggles with press conferences as well.

KL Rahul Opens Up On His First Press Conference

On his way to a press conference after the India-Pakistan game, KL Rahul shared that the team is in good shape, relaxed and rested before facing New Zealand in BCCI's 'PC Tales' episode. Speaking to bcci.tv, Rahul also shared that he usually is a bit nervous about tough questions.

Speaking of being nervous, Rahul then shared his most nervous moment when he gave his first interview as an international cricketer.

"I just remember my first interview as international cricketer for which I was very nervous. It was with Sunny sir (Sunil Gavaskar) and Dada (Sourav Ganguly) was there. It was for Star Sports."

Rahul admitted that Sunil Gavaskar and Sourav Ganguly were his idols as he grew up watching them, so he was a bit nervous around them.

"These are guys that I have looked up to growing up and watch them play so I was very nervous for that."

KL Rahul Thanks The Media

Speaking of controversies, Rahul further explained that the media in general has been good to him keeping him at bay from tough controversial questions.

"Media has been quite nice to me at least in Press conferences and they haven't asked me any controversial questions or anything that can get me in trouble."

Notably, after an average England series, where he managed to score only 52 runs in his 3 innings, Rahul now boasts consistency with his knock of 41 off 47 balls against Bangladesh.

With India's upcoming match on March 2 against New Zealand, Rahul will be more eager to prove his worth even down the order to cement his stature in the team.
