Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli had fans and viewers in splits as he relieved a memorable throwback moment during a segment on ‘18 Calling 18’ on JioHotstar. Host Jatin Sapru surprised the 36-year-old with a video clip from the 2011 IPL season. The clip featured a post-match interview where 22-year-old Kohli had just won his first-ever Player of the Match award.

Virat Kohli Hilariously Reacts To His Comments On Gayle

The video featured youthful Virat Kohli speaking how RCB chased down 162 against the then Delhi Daredevils. He was seen laughing uncontrollably as he heard himself say

"I don't even know what I said. You guys brought it here from somewhere. Chris could play himself in? Waah! Galat fehmi dekh lo (Look at the misunderstanding)! Since the social media boom, fans have started analysing players' quotes, which has become way too twisted," he said on '18 Calling 18' on JioHotstar.

After hearing to his comments on Gayle, the star batter smiled and stated that what he said has left him embarrassed. He pointed out at his immaturity and misunderstanding back then.

Virat Kohli's Stellar Form In IPL 2025

Meanwhile, Kohli’s form in IPL 2025 shows no signs of waning. With 164 runs in four innings, including two half-centuries, and a strike rate of 154.70, the RCB legend is nearing another great season.

It is important to mention that as Bengaluru get ready to face Delhi Capitals at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, Kohli is just 50 runs away from becoming the first Indian and only the second player after David Warner to reach 100 T20 half-centuries.
