The emergence of Gujarat Titans youngster, Sai Sudharsan was an unintended positive outcome of New Zealand talisman Kane Williamson's unfortunate injury at the beginning of IPL 2023.

Sudharsan harnesses Kohli's mind, Dhoni's self-awareness for success

Pitched against the Chennai Super Kings as an Impact Player in their opening game, Sudharsan showcased a glimpse of his potential, scoring 22 off 17 balls. His best performance came in the IPL 2023 final where he notched a blistering 96 runs against CSK, confirming his arrival on the grand stage.

Currently, Sudharsan is part of the India A squad participating in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. Under Yash Dhull's leadership, India A has made a dominant unbeaten march to the final, set to lock horns with Pakistan A on the upcoming Sunday.

Sudharsan's impressive batting, including a remarkable century against Pakistan A in a league match, has contributed significantly to India A’s success.

Sudharsan praised Kohli for his remarkable mental strength during an interview on Star Sports. He expressed his desire to acquire this admirable trait from the Indian veteran, mentioning that they have had conversations about it in the past.

Virat’s mind is very strong. So, I want to take that trait from him. I have had conversations with him as well," said Sudharsan on Star Sports.

Sudharsan also took the opportunity to share the wisdom he has gleaned from the legendary MS Dhoni regarding the importance of self-awareness.

Everyone knows Mahi bhai," Sudharsan said on Star Sports. “He is very calm and whenever I speak to him, he always insists to know more about yourself and what you can do for the team. That is more important than trying and doing something or being someone else,” added the southpaw.

Sudharsan's exploits are not limited to international cricket alone. He has an impressive record in domestic cricket representing Tamil Nadu, with 598 runs from eight first-class matches at an average of 42.71, which includes two centuries and a half-century.

His record in white-ball cricket is equally notable, boasting 855 runs from 15 List-A matches at a stunning average of 65.76 and a strike rate of 103.13. His T20 career also shines, amassing 859 runs in 26 games with a robust strike rate of 129.75, further garnished with five half-centuries.
