Just under 24 hours remain for one of the most anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 matches between India and Pakistan to commence. The high-voltage encounter will take place at the world's largest cricket ground, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India and Pakistan have already arrived in the city and started their preparations for the match, which holds immense value for both nations, given their history.

In seven World Cup matches, India are yet to lose to Pakistan since they first met in the 1992 edition. Former India captain Virat Kohli has been part of three World Cup ties against Pakistan and has already expressed his preparedness for the eighth one.

Speaking to Star Sports, the 34-year-old stated that a player must be the absolute best mentally and physically when facing Pakistan.

Here's what Kohli said

"Very excited & well prepared for India vs Pakistan - feeling good mentally & physically. You have to be absolutely at your best when you face Pakistan".

India and Pakistan have won their respective first two matches and occupy the third and fourth positions in the World Cup 23 points table, with only net run-rate separating them.

Kohli has often been a thorn in Pakistan's success against India, having scored 662 ODI runs in 15 matches, which include three centuries and two fifties, averaging a staggering 55.16. The batting maestro also slammed a hundred against Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup.
