One of the world cricket's most promising and upcoming talents, Shubman Gill has added another feather to his cap, winning the ICC Men's Player Of The Month for September 2023.

Gill beat other competitors like fellow Indian teammate Mohammed Siraj and England's dashing opener Dawid Malan, who were nominated alongside the star batter. The 24-year-old amassed 480 runs in all ODIs in September 2023 alone, which include 302 runs in Asia Cup 2023 and 178 runs in a three-match series against Australia.

Amongst 480 runs, Gill slammed 104 against Australia at Indore and 121 against Bangladesh at Colombo.

With this, Gill also became the only Indian player to win the ICC POTM award twice, having won the laurel in January 2023. Other men's players to have won the award are Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shreyas Iyer, and Virat Kohli.

Ranked No.2 in ICC ODI Rankings for Batters, Gill has scored 1,917 runs in 35 appearances for India with six tons, one double-hundred, and nine half-centuries, out of which 1,230 runs and five hundred and as many fifties have come this year.

Sadly, the Punjab-born batter is battling against time and hopes to regain fitness for the all-important clash against Pakistan at Ahmedabad tomorrow.

The Gujarat Titans player has been out of commission thus far in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, having missed India's clashes against Australia and Afghanistan, respectively due to illness.
