Jasprit Bumrah's magnificent spells and wicket-taking prowess on show in the first two Tests against England not only enriched his reputation in the cricketing globe but also found him new admirers in the opposition camp.

England pacer Ollie Robinson is a Bumrah fan convert after watching the great fast-bowler unleash fire at the batter on spin-dominant surfaces in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.

After bagging match figures of 6 for 69 in the first game, Bumrah backed it up with figures of 6 for 45 and 3 for 43 to win the 'Player of the Match' in India's comeback win in the Vizag Test.

Besides the wickets, it was the fashion in which Bumrah bowled, exhibiting tremendous control over old-ball reverse swing while showcasing his range of skills, including the yorkers and the slow off-cutters, that won over Robinson, who looks set to play the third Test in Rajkot, starting Thursday (February 13).

Robinson Lauds Jasprit Bumrah

Speaking to Wisden during an interview, Robinson said he and England fast-bowling great James Anderson have had conversations based on Bumrah's genius and they hope to replicate his trade and smarts in Indian conditions.

"Jasprit Bumrah has been crazy good. I must have said, ‘This bloke’s the best bowler in the world,’ ten times in Vizag," Robinson said.

"The way he got Popey out (yorker and bowled), I was like, ‘Oh my, this guy’s a joke.’ And then he got Foakesy out with a slower ball and I’m like, ‘Oh my goodness, can this guy get any better? You watch him and you think, ‘Wow, he’s good.’"

"And as a bowler – me and Jimmy (James Anderson) were speaking about it and after the last game – to watch him ply his trade in India is really special because we’re always striving to put on a performance like that in these conditions," he added.

Bumrah is currently the leading wicket-taker of the series with his 15 scalps coming at an average of just 10.67. The ace speedster will be hoping to continue in his rich vein of form as India look to thwart the 'Bazball' parade and retain their unbeaten home series streak.
