KKR completely outclassed DC in Kolkata today to fetch a comprehensive seven-wicket victory and captain Shreyas Iyer admitted that he’s already thinking about the playoffs.

After a couple of humiliating losses, KKR was spot on with the ball against DC as they restricted Rishabh Pant and Co. to below-par 153 runs total in the first innings.

On Eden Gardens’ wicket, it was a cakewalk for KKR as they chased down the total with 3 overs to spare owing to Phil Salt’s 33 balls 68 runs carnage.

Meanwhile, winning captain Shreyas Iyer revealed that he didn’t expect the wicket to be this challenging, given the past history. Apparently, the pitch became tacky after the powerplay, which helped KKR tighten the leash.

"Not at all. The last few matches it played, I thought 200 was a par score. Then the ball became tacky after the powerplay and holding up. Good that we were bowling first and that helped us to do well and bat properly," Iyer said.

Iyer added that quality players like Phil Salt and Sunil Narine need no advice, and he’s glad Narine does not attend batters' meetings.

"We don't say anything and Salt and Narine have been tremendous as they put their heart and soul into the work. Sunil does not attend batting meetings and good that he does not," he added.

The KKR skipper importantly praised Varun for an outstanding spell and revealed that KKR is already preparing for the playoffs.

"Varun bowled well and came back after having some off games out there. Yes, we are thinking of qualification and we have started well and want to reach there before the last few matches," KKR captain concluded.

Indeed, KKR seems most likely to finish in top four as with 12 points in 9 games, they’re already seated comfortably in second place on the points table.
