In the World Test Championship (WTC) final, India suffered a heavy defeat of 209 runs against Australia, prompting former India opening batter Virender Sehwag to highlight the importance of a stronger mindset and approach in winning championships.

Although there were glimpses of a fightback from the Indian top order, they eventually succumbed to the dominant Australian side, scoring only 234 runs and resulting in a convincing 209-run victory for Australia.

Taking to Twitter, Sehwag pointed out that India's mindset was compromised when they chose to exclude Ashwin against a left-handed heavy attack. He also stressed the need for improvement in the performance of the top-order batter.

"Congratulations to Australia on winning the WTC Final. They are the deserved winners. India lost it in their minds when they decided to exclude Ashwin against a left-handed heavy attack. Plus the top order needed to bat better. Need to have better mindset and approach to win championships," Virender Sehwag posted on Twitter.

Sehwag's remarks serve as a reminder that success in high-stakes matches requires not only skill and talent but also a resilient and focused mindset, along with strategic decision-making.
