The ongoing Asia Cup has reached an exciting stage where all four teams are in contention to book their places in the final set to take place on September 28 at the Dubai International Stadium. There is a possibility that arch-rivals India and Pakistan lock horns again in the final, and for the third time in this tournament.

So far, the Men in Blue have emerged victorious in both matches and are touted as one of the favourites. Notably, India are just a win away from qualifying for the finals. Talking about Pakistan, the Men in Green registered a great win over Bangladesh, where Shaheen Afridi returned to form with the ball and took a three-wicket haul.

Shaheen Afridi Gives Befitting Reply To Reporter In Presser

After a scintillating performance, the left-arm seamer appeared for a press conference where the reporter questioned Shaheen's recent form.

"My question is that whenever there is a Pakistan-India match, everyone is watching Shaheen Afridi, But in the last 4-5 matches, Shaheen Afridi didn't give such a performance. So, in the next match, if there is a Pakistan-India final, can we see Shaheen Afridi's out-of-form form again?" the journalist asked.

The left-arm seamer was stunned by the question and quickly quipped, 'Do you want me to be dropped?' Shaheen did not stop there and quickly replied that he wouldn't even shy away from giving his life on the field for Pakistan.

“Are you trying to drop me? Agar Shaheen Afridi Pakistan se khelega to apni jaan bhi de dega. (Shaheen Afridi can even give his life if he’s playing for Pakistan)," he added in reply to the reporter.

The reporter recently accused Shaheen Afridi of not giving his best, which is why it is important to fact check whether the journalist was correct in his assessment or not. Looking at the southpaw's stats, then in his previous nine innings, the Eagle has taken just 10 wickets. However, the 25-year-old has performed well with the bat, and amassed 66 runs in his last five innings.
