Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal shined with the bat in the recently concluded T20I series against Australia following the conclusion of the World Cup final on November 19. Ruturaj Gaikwad was also seen in dazzling form with the bat and played some sensational innings which later proved instrumental in India’s remarkable 4-1 series victory against the Aussies.

Prior to the buildup to the T20I series against South Africa, Ruturaj Gaikwad made an interesting revelation about an interesting friendly six-hitting competition involving himself along with Rinku and Jaiswal. The trio played this six-hitting challenge during the 5-match T20I series against the Aussies.

"There was a six-hitting competition between some of the players during the five-match T20I series against Australia. We didn’t have much to practice before the 1st T20I against South Africa, however, we had some before the series opener against Australia. We had fun and enjoyed hitting sixes during the practice, so obviously, I would say Rinku and Yashasvi are far ahead of all the others," Gaikwad told Star Sports.

Furthermore, Gaikwad mentioned that his new opening partner is fearless and adopts an aggressive style of cricket, as his responsibility is to anchor one end.

"Mostly, he is the one who goes for the attacking shots from Ball 1. Yashasvi is the kind of player who doesn’t hold back. I just have to figure out a few risks, and play according to what the team requires."

Meanwhile, India’s first T20I match against the Proteas ended on a disappointing note as the game was forced to be called off due to persistent rain. However, the Men in Blue will be seen in action in their upcoming T20I match scheduled to take place in Gqeberha this Tuesday.
