The Test series against South Africa ended with immense disappointment, but another blow has hit the Indian side harder. In the first innings of the first Test at the Eden Gardens, Shubman Gill sustained an injury that ruled him out of the series.

After the Test series, Gill has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series against the Proteas. And when a fan quizzed former KKR star Nitish Rana about Gill’s condition, he delivered a big update that instantly grabbed attention.

Rana gives a big hint about Gill’s health

After taking the reins of Team India after Rohit Sharma retired from the longest format, Shubman Gill led India to some thrilling victories. But the rhythm was interrupted in the recently ended Test series against South Africa. Coming to bat in the first innings of the Kolkata Test, Gill sustained the injury while hitting a boundary and walked away from the ground, and didn’t come to bat in the second innings.

Missing out on the second Test and the entire ODI series, he is currently recovering from the injury setback. As former KKR batter Nitish Rana is playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Delhi, when a fan asked him about Shubman Gill’s health, he shared a massive update.

Sharing his update, Rana said, “Bhai hai chota mera yaar woh. Theek hai woh, pehele se behtar hai abhi.” That video has gone viral as the fans are happy after getting his update.

Beyond the cricket, both batters share a brotherly bond. Years together in the KKR camp forged a friendship that fans adore, and even as they now play for different franchises, their camaraderie remains unshakable.

Fans count the days for Gill to take the field

After walking off the crease from the first Test, the neck spasm proved to be more serious. After being admitted to the ICU in Kolkata, Gill travelled with the team to Guwahati but didn’t play the match. Being ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series, his arrival was paused.

Following the ODI series, India will face South Africa in a five-match T20 series. While an official update on Gill remains pending, reports hint that he may head to the BCCI CoE for rehab in early December, aiming for a big comeback just in time for the T20I series.
