In a significant development, India conducted multiple military strikes as its response to the barbaric Pahalgam terror attack that made innocent civilians lose their lives last month. India's mid-night strike, named "Operation Sindoor", has infuriated Pakistan, with tensions between two neighbouring nations intensifying at the border.

With multiple airports getting shut and both countries preparing for a possible armed conflict, the future of the ongoing IPL 2025 has certainly been jeopardised.

BCCI Hopeful Of Hosting IPL 2025 As Scheduled

However, as per the latest reports, the BCCI has no immediate plans to halt the IPL 2025. According to ANI, the cricketing body will keep conducting the IPL matches as per the tournament's original schedule despite tensions brewing on both sides across the India-Pakistan border.

Having said that, the report also claims that the BCCI will closely monitor the situation and take a call on the IPL's future as per the demand of the situation.

"IPL will be run as per schedule the situation will be monitored and depending on circumstances a call will be taken," a BCCI source told ANI.

Multiple Airports Shut Amid India-Pakistan Conflict

After India launched nine airstrikes, targeting numerous terrorist base camps, several airports near the border have been shut down. The airports in Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot - have been closed until 5:30am IST on May 10.

This will likely impact the travel plans of certain IPL teams, who are currently in Dharamsala. It's worth mentioning that PBKS and DC are in Dharamsala for their encounter on Thursday, May 8, while MI were scheduled to reach the winter capital of Himachal Pradesh for their game on May 11. However, their travel plan could be altered amid the ongoing geo-political situation.

According to TOI, a senior BCCI official revealed that the board would follow the Indian government's advisories while taking necessary steps to ensure a hassle-free IPL experience for the players as well as fans.
