'Not Feeling Well...But Wanted To...,' Rohit Sharma's Mother On Her Son's T20 World Cup Victory

Rohit Sharma's astute leadership in T20 World Cup 2024 ended India's ICC trophy drought in Barbados after 11 long years. He has been praised from all corners after the victory, and his name will surely go down as one of the greatest ever to play for the country.

Amidst all these love showering, his mother's words for her beloved son has caught the limelight. Rohit's mom mentioned that at one point in time, she never thought that she will see her son lifting World Cup trophy as a captain.

 She also stated that before the World Cup, Rohit had come to meet them and had told them that he will retire from T20Is after the World Cup. She further added that she told him to try and win the World Cup, and revealed that her health was not good on the memorable victory parade day, but she still came because she wanted to see an historic occasion.

"I have never thought I would see this day. Before going to the World Cup, he had come to meet us and said that he wanted to quit T20Is after this. I just said try to win. I was not feeling well today and had a doctor's appointment but I still came as I wanted to see this day."

Rohit Sharma has now retired from T20Is along with Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja, and all his fans would be hoping that he kicks on and lead India to victories in WTC final and ODI World Cup 2027.
