As defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru gear up to kick off against Gujarat Giants in the opener of Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 campaign in Vadodara, they have received an inspiring message from none other than Virat Kohli. In a video message shared by the franchise on social media, Kohli wished Smriti Mandhana & Co. the very best for the season, urging them to carry forward last year’s momentum and play with confidence.

'It's amazing what you did last year, and I hope you continue to ride that momentum. With the load of winning the title already off your back, go out there, express yourself, and enjoy the support from fans across India'. Kohli said.

It is important to mention that, RCB, under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana are one of the favourites teams for this season as well. The team will enter with high confidence after clinching their maiden WPL title last year.

However, Gujarat Giants are still searching for their first-ever playoff appearance. Having finished at the bottom of the table in both previous seasons, the Giants will be eager to make a strong statement under new captain Ashleigh Gardner.

There’s no shortage of talent as we had seen last year as well. I’m sure that with the load off your back already of winning the title, you will go out there and express yourselves and enjoy the support you get from fans all over India. I wish you all the very best for the upcoming season," he added.

RCB Women scripted history last year by clinching their maiden WPL title, defeating Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in the final. The 2025 edition will be played across Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai, with the final scheduled for March 15 at Mumbai.
