MS Dhoni is arguably one of the most successful captains in the history of Indian cricket. The legendary Indian wicket-keeper possesses a myriad of essential traits that set him apart from the other captains. His cool and witty temperament as a player has helped him outfox several oppositions in grand ICC events.

Gambhir's statement on MSD

In a recent interview with StartSports, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has gone to immense lengths to praise MS Dhoni and said that no one can match his captaincy in Indian cricket. His remark comes as no surprise as Dhoni led the Men in Blue to three ICC titles most notably - 2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy.

Gambhir later stressed that there is no bigger achievement than claiming an ICC title and suggested that he has done his part to propel Team India to new heights.

"No one can match MS Dhoni's Captaincy in Indian cricket. Many captains have come and many captains will come but I don't think anyone can match his captaincy. The man who wins 3 ICC Trophies in his captaincy, I don't think anything can be bigger than this."

Dhoni assumed the captaincy roles following India’s embarrassing exit from the 2007 ODI World Cup. Later that year, Dhoni led team India to their maiden T20 World Cup title by beating the arch-rivals Pakistan in a nerve-wracking encounter.

Subsequently, 4 years later, Ms Dhoni and his men put an end to a 28-year-long wait and powered India to an emphatic win in the ODI World Cup final against Sri Lanka.

Furthermore, in his long list of achievements, Dhoni led India to a memorable title win in the Champions Trophy final by defeating England back in 2013.

As the World Cup arrives on home soil once again, hopes are once again high from team India to repeat the triumph of the 2011 World Cup success under the esteemed leadership of Rohit Sharma.
