Mohammed Rizwan and Babar Azam are undoubtedly the strong pillars of the Pakistan team in modern-day cricket. The duo has successfully represented their national side across all three formats so far. Whenever a crisis loomed, the two have always stood up and delivered well under pressure circumstances. Over the years, Rizwan and Babar have improved their game significantly making them one of the most lethal batters to contend with.

During Pakistan’s first World Cup warm-up clash against New Zealand in Hyderabad, the 1992 champions received an early setback as they lost their openers cheaply in quick time. Pakistan were in a slight bit of bother when Rizwan and Babar took centerstage. The duo stitched a herculean 114-run stand for the 3rd wicket to resurrect the innings for Pakistan and steer them to a stiff total of 345/5.

Babar demonstrated his prowess with a well-earned 80 runs before departing, while Rizwan's exceptional performance saw him crafting a brilliant unbeaten 103 before opting to retire.

During the post-match presentation ceremony, Rizwan hilariously linked his batting chemistry to physics, stating that it's in immaculate alignment with Babar Azam. He further elaborated that their successful partnership is a living example of the excellent chemistry and understanding he shares with his skipper.

"Babar Azam and I understand each other well. Our chemistry and physics are the same," Mohammed Rizwan said.

Further in the conversation with the host broadcaster, he talked about his century and the love the Pakistan team has got from the Indian crowd.

"A hundred is a hundred, proud and happy of it. Scoring a century for Pakistan is always special. The Indian crowd gave us a lot of love at the airport itself, just like how our fans love us back in Pakistan. We were welcomed in India in a great way," Rizwan said during the mid-innings.

Despite Rizwan and Babar’s brilliance with the bat, New Zealand was able to emerge on top as Rachin’s 97 and Chapman’s belligerent 65 steered the Blackcaps to a comfortable victory. Kane Williamson also looked good on his comeback and scored a half-century before retiring.

Moving on, New Zealand will head to Thiruvananthapuram to face off against South Africa in their upcoming World Cup warm-up fixture on October 2. On the other hand, Pakistan will remain in Hyderabad to lock horns with Australia in their second warm-up match on October 3.
