Young Indian pacer Mayank Yadav received massive applause for his fiery bowling spell in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior. Playing the first international match of his career, Mayank troubled Bangladesh's established batters with his pace and accuracy.
The seamer had an outstanding start to the game, becoming only the third Indian bowler to kickstart his T20I career with a maiden over. He followed it up with his first international wicket, dismissing Bangladesh's veteran batter Mahmudullah with his searing pace.
However, despite witnessing Mayank's on-field exploits, Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto seems unbothered about the pace sensation.
In fact, the southpaw revealed that the Tigers have played similar bowlers in the nets, giving them confidence to face the Indian speedster. However, he also appreciated Mayank Yadav's skills, calling him a very bright prospect.
"We have some similar fast bowlers in the nets. I don’t think we were too worried about (Mayank Yadav). But he is a good bowler," Najmul Hossain Shanto was quoted as saying by The Hindustan Times.
Bangladesh Seek Redemption In 2nd T20I
After losing the Test series by two-nil, Bangladesh had a torrid start to the T20I leg, suffering a horrendous defeat in the first game in Gwalior. Batting first, the Tigers managed a paltry 127-run total, with Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh running through their lineup.
In response, India chased down the total without breaking a sweat, as Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya played scintillating knocks. So, moving on to this match, the visitors would be desperate to change their fortunes and restore parity in the series.
