'My family And I...': Jasprit Bumrah Responds To Shaheen Afridi's Heart-Winning Gift For Son Angad

Playing for the nation incites emotions, which should be limited within the peripheries of the sport and not exceed beyond the line. Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi displayed exemplary sportsmanship on Sunday evening after the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s clash against India got called off.

Afridi, who is known for his aggressive approach on the field, called upon rival pacer Jasprit Bumrah from Team India and congratulated the latter for the birth of his firstborn last week.

After the Pakistan speedster gifted a beautiful present, Afridi posted a heartfelt message on the social media platform 'X'.

"Love and peace. Congratulations @Jaspritbumrah93 and family on the birth of your child. Prayers for the entire family. We battle on the field. Off the field we are just your regular humans."

Immediately, Bumrah thanked the Pakistan player revealing that his family was extremely touched by Afridi's kind gesture under the same post.

"Beautiful gesture, my family and I are overwhelmed with the love! Best wishes always.🤗 @iShaheenAfridi."

The India pacer took time off after India's Group A clash against Pakistan, and flew back to Mumbai, to be with his wife Sanjana Ganesan for the birth of his first-born Angad.  Bumrah missed India's tie against Nepal and returned for the Super 4s stage.

Both Bumrah and Afridi will turn foes again when India and Pakistan resume the match today in Colombo after being the encounter was called off on Sunday evening due to incessant rain.
