On Sunday, May 25, Gujarat Titans hosted Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. MS Dhoni and Shubman Gill walked out for the toss and the visitors won the coin flip and opted to bat first. It was an important toss and several fans tuned into live telecast to listen to MS Dhoni, who might be playing his final IPL game.
Notably, the ongoing match is CSK's final league-stage match and there are speculations that MS Dhoni might announce his retirement. Meanwhile, Ravi Shastri, who was the toss presenter, didn't directly asked MS Dhoni about his future, but indeed hinted at his retirement, to which thala too responded in an indirect manner.
"Every year, it's a new challenge, especially, when you are at the last stage of the career. You need maintenance. It didn't trouble me when I was playing international cricket. But thanks to the support staff as well," Dhoni remarked during the toss.
CSK Eyeing To Avoid Massive Embarrassment
Chennai Super Kings are placed last on the table and a defeat against Gujarat Titans would result in the five-time winners ending the tournament last on the table for the first time in their history. Further, it is also MS Dhoni's last match as a captain as Ruturaj Gaikwad would return to lead the team from the next season.
Talking about MS Dhoni, the CSK captain did not announce his retirement, but it is expected that thala might wait till end of the season to take a call on his future.
