India's newest superstar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, was on fire against the touring England side in the second Test at Visakhapatnam, where he wreaked havoc on the batters with an unbelievable 179* on the first day. Despite that, the other Indian batters proved to be a disappointment as none of them could even reach the 50-run mark as the home side ended the day on 336 for six.
Former English skipper Alastair Cook was high on praise for the left-hander as he mentioned that he is too skilled and mature for a 22-year-old while speaking on TNT Sports.
Further, Cook, who was known to be gritty back in the day, lashed out at the other members of the Indian side for not being up to the mark on a decent pitch and termed them as 'fragile'.
Later, giving some valuable advice to his countrymates, Alastair reckoned that they should be bowling a bit wider to him in the hope that he either edges it or plays it into the hands of point fielder, although runs might leak a bit more with this plan.
"He's delivered when his side need it. It was an innings of maturity and skill beyond his 22 years. Yashasvi Jaiswal was absolutely outstanding. The rest of the India team were 158-6 on a pretty good wicket. If you take him out of the side their fragile batting line-up is still there. I wonder if England could bowl a bit wider at him. It might leak some runs, but it would add more risk."
Meanwhile, Jaiswal would be all geared up for the second day's play, where he would have to continue his impressive display to take India's score past 400 alongside Ravichandran Ashwin.
