Former Australian cricketing legend Brett Lee recently expressed his admiration for Indian batting maestro Virat Kohli, asserting that he would love to see Kohli participating in the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Lee's sentiments were shared during a conversation on Jio Cinema, where he highlighted Kohli's prowess and his significance to the Indian team.

Despite recent scrutiny over his strike rate during a game against KKR, Kohli has been in sensational form in the ongoing IPL season, currently leading the run charts with 316 runs in five matches, including one century and two half-centuries.

Lee commended Kohli's exceptional performance, emphasizing the value he brings to the Indian squad.

Virat Kohli should play World Cup says Brett Lee

"I would love to see big players playing in the T20 World Cup. I would love to see guys like Virat Kohli playing in the World Cup."

Lee's endorsement of Kohli's inclusion in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad underscores the widespread anticipation surrounding the tournament, scheduled to take place in the USA and West Indies in June.

While speculation persists regarding the final squad selections, Kohli's stellar showing against Pakistan in Melbourne has strengthened his case for a spot in the lineup.

In addition to Kohli, Lee also lauded the emergence of young talent in the IPL, singling out Mayank Yadav for his impressive debut performance.

Representing Lucknow Super Giants, Yadav's impactful bowling display against Punjab Kings earned him accolades and further highlighted the depth of talent in Indian cricket.
