Team India's vice-captain Hardik Pandya expressed his deep admiration for captain Rohit Sharma's exceptional leadership style. He commended Rohit for consistently supporting and backing his players, particularly in high-pressure situations.

In addition to his remarkable batting display, Rohit has exhibited outstanding captaincy skills in the three World Cup matches played by India. His leadership has garnered widespread acclaim globally, particularly for his strategic bowling changes and impeccable field placements.

Rohit has maintained a clear vision in planning and team selection, keeping faith in his tried and tested methods. His decisiveness has been a cornerstone of his successful captaincy.

One of the hallmarks of Rohit's captaincy has been how he has utilized Pandya with the ball. So far in the tournament, Pandya has consistently played the role of the third seamer, often entrusted with the ball before Shardul Thakur.

"Rohit Sharma's captaincy is outstanding. He always backs and supports players. If a boundary goes, he always says, 'It's okay, don't worry, you back your strength, I'm with you," remarked Hardik Pandya during an interview on Star Sports.

The seam-bowling all-rounder has delivered impressive performances, capturing five wickets at an average of 21.00 in the 16 overs he has bowled in the tournament. Importantly, he has never finished a game without taking a wicket, with his best performance being 2/34 against Pakistan.

While his contributions with the ball have been noteworthy, Hardik has had limited opportunities with the bat, having batted only once in the tournament so far. In the opening match against Australia, he scored an unbeaten 11* off 8 balls.

India has been on a winning streak, triumphing in their first three matches. Their next challenge awaits as they face Bangladesh in Pune on October 19. Bangladesh enters the match with high confidence, having defeated India thrice in their last four ODIs. The Tigers secured victories in the Asia Cup 2023 and during a bilateral series in December 2022 hosted in Bangladesh. These past victories add to the stakes for Rohit Sharma and his team in Pune.
