The Indian team, batting first, set a target of 241 runs, thanks to significant contributions from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. However, Australia's disciplined bowling, spearheaded by Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins, restricted them to a manageable total.

Responding to India's challenge, Australia's batsmen, particularly Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne, took control. Labuschagne's unbeaten 58 off 110 balls, alongside Head's brilliant 137 off 120 balls, propelled Australia to a comfortable victory, reaching 241/4 in just 43 overs.

Speaking after the match, Labuschagne expressed his elation and gratitude following the win. He shared his amazement at the team's achievement, especially the significance of defeating India on their home ground. The right-hander acknowledged the team's collective effort, praising the bowlers for setting up the victory and lauding Travis Head for his remarkable innings.

“Man, what we have achieved today is unbelievable. To play in India and to beat India in India the form team is incredible. The performance from the team is unbelievable and the bowlers did the job and then Travis with this innings. The way everything happened was unbelievable,” said Labuschagne.

The 29-year-old reflected on his journey, highlighting his unexpected inclusion in the team and the privilege of playing 19 consecutive games. Labuschagne extended his thanks to the support staff and everyone who stood by him throughout his journey.

“I have no words to express. I was not even in the team and then they stuck by me and to play 19 games in a row has been amazing. I thank all of those who have supported me throughout. Thank you to the support staff for the win,” added the South Africa-born cricketer.
