'I Don't Want It...' - Ben Stokes On Playing 100th Test In Rajkot Against Rohit Sharma's Men

England’s skipper Ben Stokes is set to accomplish a new milestone as he is set to play the hundredth Test match of his career against India from 15th February at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. Despite achieving this prestigious milestone, the English all-rounder is treating the match as just another game and is not concerned about the number.

The English Test cricket team has flourished under the leadership of Ben Stokes and has consistently registered multiple and unrealistic wins. Stokes believes a game does not become a milestone just because of its occasion, however, it becomes special if the cricketer makes it special with the bat or the ball.

Ben Stokes walks down the memory lane; and recalls his young days in the English team

“It’s just a number. Every Test is just as important as the next one. It doesn’t make much difference – 99, 100, 101. I guess it’s a sign of longevity. I don’t want it to sound like I’m not grateful for the opportunities I’ve had. But the way to look at milestones is 'It's not done until it’s done,'" Ben Stokes said in a recent interview ahead of his hundredth Test.

While talking about his younger days under the captain Alastair Cook and Head coach Andy Flower, Stokes said, "I was young and just taking it all in. Every dressing room is different and back then the way it was led was more authentic to the guys in charge, Cooky and Andy Flower. That’s the good thing about leadership. If you’re loyal to how you want to be, that's a great thing. Do it in a way that is true to yourself."

England and India will meet for the third Test match of the ongoing tour starting Thursday. After the two Test matches of the five-match Test series, both the teams stand at a win each and will be eyeing the third Test to get a lead in the series.
