Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag suggested that Rohit Sharma could achieve a score exceeding 150 against a weakened Delhi Capitals (DC) bowling lineup at his home ground in Mumbai on Sunday, April 7.

Opening the batting for MI on a scorching afternoon, Rohit was aggressive right from the first over after DC elected to field first at the Wankhede Stadium. Rohit launched an assault on the bowlers, particularly dominating during the Powerplay overs.

Partnering with Ishan Kishan, the pair propelled the hosts to 75/0 in the Powerplay overs. Rohit's aggressive play contributed significantly to this early momentum.

Despite his impressive start, Axar Patel managed to dismiss Rohit shortly after the Powerplay. Rohit departed after a brisk 27-ball 49, a knock embellished with 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Speaking about Rohit's innings, which set the stage for MI's first win of the season, Sehwag said that Rohit could have scored 100 more runs before getting out on 49.

"He missed 100 runs I would say. He got out in the next over of the powerplay...he didn't bat for 14 overs. Rohit would have scored 100 more runs if he batted for the last 14 overs. He was stuck when he couldn't take a single. For the first time, it looked like he was looking for a single and he got out,"  Virender Sehwag said while speaking to Cricbuzz.

Although Rohit's innings was short, it set a solid foundation for the rest of the batters to build upon.

With his brisk innings, the Hitman reached a milestone of 1,000 IPL runs against DC, becoming the third player to achieve this feat against multiple opponents.
