The most-awaited time is back as Team India is set to step into the first ODI match of the upcoming three-match series against Australia. Wasting no time after landing, the Men in Blue hit the nets with fierce intensity, determined to stamp their authority on Aussie soil.
Before stepping into the first match of the series, BCCI shared a video of Team India’s intense preparation. The video featured Axar Patel revealing key insights from the camp, while the much-awaited arrival of the RO-Ko duo added an extra spark to the build-up.
Intensity on full display as Team India dominate the nets
After wrapping up the Test series against the West Indies, Team India has shifted their focus to the upcoming red-ball assignment as they are set to face Australia in a three-match ODI series. As the first match of the series is scheduled for October 19, Team India has already reached the Aussie land and is hitting the nets with all intensity.
Apart from the classic India vs Australia rivalry, the series got a major hype up with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s arrival in the national side. Right after reaching Perth for the first match, the Indian stars hit the net hard as the RO-KO duo grabbed the limelight with their intense net session. In a video, BCCI has shared those exclusive moments.
Axar Patel praises Gill’s leadership skills
In the same video, Team India’s spin star Axar Patel was seen talking about Shubman Gill’s captaincy. He praised Gill’s approach in his new leadership role, saying it’s a great opportunity for him to grow and evolve as a captain.
“This is the transition of the Indian cricket team. He is doing well as a captain; he is not getting pressurized for the workforce. I think that's a good quality of the leader, and it is also very good for him to grow as a captain. Both younger and experienced players are together with him. We had our first practice session and we are gelling together,” Patel said.
Apart from the classic India-Australia face-off, the biggest highlight of the tour has become Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s comeback in the setup. Speaking on their arrival after the Champions Trophy 2025 final, Axar Patel confidently said both stars are ready to shine.
“They are world-class players and they are ready to go,” he added.
Sunday is going to be special as Shubman Gill will take charge of the ODI side, succeeding Rohit Sharma. The cricket world is excited for gripping content in Perth.
