On Sunday, Australia recorded their sixth World Cup win, defeating India comprehensively by six wickets in a high-voltage final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After being invited to bat first, India managed a sub-par 240, as the Australians keep them under the pump with exceptional bowling and fielding. In response, the mighty Aussies chased the target without breaking a sweat, as Travis Head slammed a scintillating 137 off just 120 balls.

After Australia's emphatic win, veteran opener David Warner lauded his teammates for an outstanding outing with the ball in the first half.

Speaking to the broadcasters Star Sports, Warner also hailed the fourth wicket partnership between Head and Marnus Labuschagne, which powered Australia to a comfortable win.

"Our bowlers were fantastic. They did the job and our fielding was amazing and set the tone. To keep India down to 241 was a great effort," Warner said.

"There was tremendous nervous energy out there. But that partnership between Head and Marnus was great. For Trav to come out there and score those runs under pressure and the way he made a comeback was great to see. Happy to win another final," he added.

Up next, both teams will take on each other in a five-match T20I series starting on November 23.
