Tonight, Gujarat Titans (GT) will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in match number 51 of the ongoing IPL 2025 season. The high-voltage clash will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Ahead of the riveting contest, GT's Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki issued a key update on skipper Shubman Gill's back spasm that got him subbed off against Rajasthan Royals.

Vikram Solanki Issues Shubman Gill's Fitness Update

It's worth mentioning that GT captain Shubman Gill didn't come out to the field, with Rashid Khan leading the team against Rajasthan Royals. In the post-match presentation, Gill revealed that an unfortunate back spasm was the reason behind his absence on the field.

However, GT's Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki stated that Gill would likely be ready to go up against the Sunrisers this evening. Speaking to the media in the pre-match presser, Solanki reckoned that Gill would train with the team and possibly feature in the upcoming encounter in Ahmedabad.

“His fitness, there was a bit of a back spasm. We’re just trying to be careful with it. He'll be at training today. We'll just see where he's at. We're reasonably confident that he's going to be OK,” Vikram Solanki was quoted as saying by India Today.

Shubman Gill's Scintillating Form In IPL 2025

Renowned for his glorious stroke play, Shubman Gill has showcased remarkable consistency with the bat of late. Despite getting a topsy-turvy start to his IPL 2025 campaign, Gill managed to turn things around, eventually stepping up as GT's go-to man, alongside Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, at the top order.

Meanwhile, the Titans are well on track for a smooth entry into the playoffs, having won six out of their first nine fixtures. If they win tonight, it will help them go further up in the IPL 2025 points table, currently topped by the in-form Mumbai Indians.
