 'God has A Bigger Plan For Me...,' Jitesh Sharma Reacts To His Exclusion From The Indian T20I Squad

Vidarbha and Punjab Kings' wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma isn't fretting about the lack of opportunity in the Indian T20I squad for the upcoming tour of the Caribbean.

The 29-year-old batsman was in brilliant form in the recent season of the Indian Premier League as he consistently delivered handy cameos at the backend for the Punjab Kings.

In 14 matches, Jitesh scored 309 runs at a strike rate of 156.06, and with Rishabh Pant on the sidelines and Ishan Kishan not making the most of his opportunities, one felt that Jitesh would get a look into the Indian T20I squad for the series in the Caribbean.

As it turned out, it wasn't the case as the selectors went with Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan.

While there has been a lot of outrage on social media, Sharma ain't much bothered as he feels that the Almighty has planned better things for him.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket.com, Jitesh said:

                                   "Just one sentence, 'God has a bigger plan for me." 

Jitesh was a part of the Indian T20I squad which hosted Sri Lanka and New Zealand earlier this year, but didn't get a game.

He will now hope to get an opportunity for the T20I series in Ireland next month.
