Team India had a successful run at the Asia Cup 2023, winning their eighth Asia Cup title. Now, the Indian team will be heading to the World Cup 2023, which will be played in India only. The last time India hosted the World Cup, India became the team to lift the trophy as well.

With players like Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Yuvraj Singh, India had a whole lot of match-winners who turned the fortunes in the favour of the 1.4 billion fans of the country.

In a recent interview, the former Australian wicket-keeper batter, Adam Gilchrist was asked, what advice would he be giving to the young Indian players who will be playing their first World Cup in front of the home crowd.

Here's what Gilchrist, who himself is a World Cup winner said in answering the question

"I can't claim to know what it is like to be an Indian player, playing in India. It's always intriguing. If I would be in the Indian hierarchy, I would be tapping into guys like Sachin, MS to come in and spend time with the group if they are available, and pass on all their experience."

He further said that, Virat also belonged to the same group and he should share his experiences and crete the same sort of atmosphere in the dressing room. The young players like Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan,  are going to play huge role in the next month for the Indian team.

Gilly further added that,

"I would have tried to get guys like Yuvraj (Singh), who had so much going on his life during that 2011 tournament, and ask them to speak openly about it.

"Virat, obviously, was part of that team without being a feature member of the team at that time. I would be drawing on that experience of playing a home World Cup and try to find out how they did it."
