Things are not well for Pakistan cricket as the Babar Azam-led side faced embarrassment after early exit from T20 World Cup 2024. Ahead of the tournament, the Men in Green were touted as one of the favourites, but their defeat against USA and failure to reach Super 8 round stunned the fans.

The players were under heavy criticism as skipper Babar Azam was even accused of favouritism. Several Pakistan pundits raised questions over the squad selection for T20 World Cup and stated that Babar preferred his friends over selecting players on merit.

After the exit, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi too remarked that the Pakistan team requires major chopping. Recently, the PCB chief also invited 15-20 former cricketers to take their suggestions to improve Pakistan cricket and lay a roadmap for the future events.

Meanwhile, a PAK journalist Faizan Lakhani reported that former Test cricketer Sadiq Mohammad, too was present in that meeting and he insulted the PCB selection and PAK players in front of Mohsin Naqvi. Notably, Sadiq stated that Pakistan have just four proper players and referrred to rest as 'Tullays'.

"Former Test cricketer Sadiq Mohammad, in meeting with Mohsin Naqvi, lashed out at team selection for the T20 World Cup, said there were only four proper players, and rest were all "tullay", at one point he called it "pathetic" while expressing his frustration."

Notably, 'Tullay' is a derogatory slang which means 'Below-Average'.  The PCB chief also held a meeting with Pakistan coach and support staff to discuss changes within the team.
