Former KKR Batter Names The Only Team That Can Stop Mumbai Indians In IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians have officially hit beast mode in IPL 2025. With six wins on the bounce and a 100-run hammering of Rajasthan Royals under their belt on Thursday, they are flying high at the top of the table.

Aakash Chopra Reckons Only RCB Can Stop Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025

But while other teams are scrambling to figure out how to slow them down, former India opener Aakash Chopra believes only one side might just have the firepower to throw a spanner in MI’s works and that is Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

In a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra didn't mince words.

"They have won six consecutive games. This team is not going to stop now. The question is whether they would qualify. They will definitely qualify, but can they finish at No. 1 or No. 2? That is the biggest question. Who will stop them? Maybe RCB at some stage,” he said, clearly pointing to the form both teams are in right now.

RCB vs MI Not In The League Stage Again This Season

Here is the catch though. MI and RCB won’t lock horns in the league stage again. So, if a face-off is to happen, it will be high-stakes: playoffs or nothing.

“They don't have a league game against each other left,”  Aakash Chopra added, which means if this clash of titans does go down, it could decide a ticket to the final or the trophy itself.

MI Firing On All Cylinders

Chopra went on to rave about how Mumbai Indians' batting depth and their opening pair are finally clicking together. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton piled on a 116-run opening stand against RR, and it felt like they were just getting started.

“It seemed like they could have scored 25-30 more,” Chopra pointed out.

Meanwhile, MI are peaking at the right time and are currently at the top of the IPL points table. But as Chopra said, finishing in the top two is the bigger puzzle now. And if there is a team that can stop this juggernaut, he is backing Rajat Patidar’s RCB.
