James Anderson after hanging his boots at The Lord's against West Indies has shared an emotional retirement message on his social media, expressing his emotions and gratitude towards the fans.
James Anderson after an illustrious career of 188 Tests, taking 704 wickets decided to retire after the first Test against touring West Indies at Lord's, where he made his debut 21 years ago in 2003 against Zimbabwe.
As he bows out of Test cricket with the most wickets for a pacer and 3rd overall behind Muttiah Muralitharan's 800 and Shane Warne's 708 with 704 wickets, Anderson shared an emotional message for his fans for the love over his farewell week.
In his Instagram post where he shared moments from his final Test, he wrote,
"Hard to put into words the emotions that I felt this week. It was pretty overwhelming to see and hear the reaction of people in the ground. A truly unforgettable week. The atmosphere was as good as I’ve experienced at Lords. Thank you for making it so memorable x"

In his final Test against earlier this week, he ended the first innings with the figures of 1/26 and second innings with 3/32. With the bat, he was welcomed with a standing ovations but didn't get to face a ball as debutant Jamie Smith fell from the other end, ending England's innings.
