Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended their 18-years-drought after they beat Punjab Kings by six runs to lift their first-ever IPL trophy. The internet went into a frenzy after the win and it was an emotional moment for every RCB fan. Further, the Narendra Modi Stadium was painted red and even the players couldn't control their emotions. Virat Kohli broke down into tears and so did a few other stars.

Meanwhile, RCB legends AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle too entered the ground and wore the RCB jersey to celebrate the success with Virat Kohli. The trio also assembled during the post-match presentation, where they all chanted the famous 'E Sala Cup Namdu' together.

History Behind 'E Sala Cup Namdu'

It is worth noting that RCB have had the famous 'E Sala Cup Namde' tagline for the longest time, which translated to 'This time the title will be ours'. However, the Challengers couldn't lift the title. However, with the win, RCB now have 'E Sala Cup Namdu' tagline, which translates to 'This Year The Cup Is Ours'.

Further, it is believed that before this final, Virat Kohli had asked AB de Villiers to not talk or mention this phrase in public, but after the win, the trio got together and proudly chanted 'E Sala Cup Namdu' together.

Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers had promised the fans before the final that they would be present in the stadium for the final and lift the trophy together with Virat Kohli.
