Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli, who was admitted to Akruti Health City Hospital over serious health issues, was discharged on New Year's Eve. In a heartfelt video, Kambli looked in happy spirits and advised youngsters to avoid drinking alcohol during the festive season.
Vinod Kambli's deteriorating health caught fans' attention when his disturbing state was captured during an event in Mumbai. He looks mentally and physically challenged, leading to widespread concerns amongst fans.
Amid this, Kambli was recently admitted to Akruti Health City Hospital over urinary infection and muscle cramps, and it was later revealed that his condition was linked to brain clots.

Meanwhile, on New Year's eve, Vinod Kambli was discharged from the hospital as his condition improved significantly. He walked out in India's new ODI jersey, holding a cricket bat and receiving a warm welcome from his fans.
Moreover, expressing gratitude to the hospital staff and his doctor, Shailesh Thakur, who personally drove him home, Kambli assured his well-wishers of his recovery. Not only that, the former cricketer promised to stay connected with the sport and advised youngsters celebrating New Year to avoid drinking alcohol.
“This doctor (Thakur) made me fit and I had stated that I would come back only when I am fit. I will show people in Shivaji Park that I Vinod Kambli will not leave cricket. These guys (at the hospital) gave me good cricket practice. I ‘hit’ only fours and sixes," Kambli told Times Of India.
During his stay, Kambli's dance moves from the hospital ward went viral, lifting spirits among staff and patients.
Maharashtra minister comes to Kambli's rescue
Amid tedious health battles, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his son, MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, have extended financial and logistical support to Vinod Kambli. he Shrikant Shinde Foundation has promised to provide ₹5 lakh for his medical expenses with assurance of more. Kambli thanked the Shinde family profusely for timely help and was looking forward to personally thanking the Deputy CM. The Shinde family is said to visit him soon.
