In a recent interview, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi finally broke the silence on the venue for the ICC Champions Trophy. He stated they will try their best that the Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in Pakistan and no changes will likely be made in the venue for the marquee tournament.

When the host asked the PCB Chairman about Team India's plan regarding travelling to Pakistan, he said that he refused to comment on this but likely expects a positive response. He also added that he wants 'Men in Blue' to travel and play against Pakistan.

Mohsin Naqvi Opines On India Travelling To Pakistan

PCB Chairman said:“The Champions Trophy 2025 will only be played in Pakistan. I will not comment on the Indian Cricket Team, but insha’Allah, we will hear good news regarding India’s visit to Pakistan.”

Lahore To Host  India-Pakistan Clash

In recent reports by PTI, the Pakistan Cricket Board has announced plans for a high-octane Champions Trophy clash between Pakistan and arch-rivals India in Lahore on March 1 next year. However, the BCCI has not given any verdict or approval for the proposed schedule.

The Champions Trophy is set to be played from February 19 to March 9 with March 10 reserved as a contingency day.

In the 2023 Asia Cup, India refused to travel to Pakistan the matches took place in a hybrid format. Pakistan was a co-host with Sri Lanka. So the group matches were played in Pakistan and India's matches were played in Sri Lanka for security reasons.

So, there is a high chance that the 'hybrid model' will be applied again, and India’s matches will be played at a different venue for Champions Trophy 2025.
