In this exceptional run, Kohli went on to break many records, one of them being surpassing Sachin Tendulkar by smashing his 50th ODI ton. With his scintillating performances, he also became the batter with most runs scoring 765 runs including three tons and six half-centuries in a single edition of the ODI World Cup. 

Rohit Sharma - 597 Runs

In this World Cup, we witnessed a different Rohit Sharma as he played the role of an aggressor and took on the bowlers from the first delivery of the innings. He could have scored more runs, but his selfless play at the tournament he did his job perfectly, giving flyer of starts to the Indian team. 

The Indian skipper went on to smash 597 runs with the highest score of 131 runs which came in an aggressive fashion against the Afghanistan team. With his blistering centuries, Rohit now holds the record of most centuries in the history of ODI World Cups. He also went on to hammer the highest number of sixes in a single edition of the World Cup.

He has been a gun for the Proteas over all these years and even in his last World Cup, he did everything he could to help his team have a successful tournament. 

Amassing 594 runs in just 10 games, Quinny smashed four centuries and enjoyed his time in India. Although, his team could not go past the semifinals but with his exceptional knocks, the Proteas will not forget this tournament and his contributions for a long time. With his 174-run knock against Bangladesh, he broke the 16-year-old World Cup record of the highest score by a designated wicket-keeper.

Against all the odds, he was promoted to bat in the top order against high-quality sides and he calmly handled the pressure smashing his first World Cup hundred in his first World Cup game.

The Indian-origin youngster, who admires the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, went on to hammer 578 runs in his debut World Cup. With three hundreds and two half-centuries, he had an amazing tournament and displayed his class by delivering against the top-quality bowlers.
