The young all-rounder from New Zealand, Rachin Ravindra is enjoying his dream run at the World Cup 2023. Having made his ODI debut earlier this year against Sri Lanka, he took not time to shocase his batting skills and played a classy knock of 49 runs. He was part of this team as an extra spinner, but the way he batted in the practice games, he made it to the playin XI as Williamson was injured. 

He has already scored three centuries and a couple of half-centuries in this tournament. In the nine games he has scored 565 runs and surpassed Sachin Tendulakr to be the top batter with the most runs in the single World Cup edition before turning 25.


Sachin Tendulkar - 523 Runs (World Cup 1996)

Sachin Tendulkar, the God of cricket, was just 19 when he first made his World Cup appearance in the year 1992. Despite being just 19, he went on to score 283 runs in the tournament and also was the man of the match in India's only two victories of the tournament. 

But he actually announced himself with his blistering performances at the World Cup 1996. In seven matches, Sachin went on to smash 523 runs at an average of 87.16, including two centuries and three half-centuries. He was on the top of this list but Rachin Ravindra has surpassed him and Sachin is now on the second among the players with most runs in a single edition of the World Cup before turning 25. 


Babar Azam - 474 Runs (World Cup 2019)

The current captain of the Pakistan, Babar Azam played his first World Cup in 2019 and now in the very next edition, he is leading the Pakistan team. But he is not having a great tournament as he has only scored just 282 runs with the highest score of 74.

In the 2019 World Cup, when he was just 24, he smashed 474 runs in just eight games with a healthy average of over 67. He smashed one century and three half-centuries with the highest score of 101 not out. He is now the third highest runs scorer when it comes to the most runs in a single edition of World Cup before turning 25. 


Ibrahim Zadran - 376 Runs (World Cup 2023)

The opener from Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran is the third current player in the list. He is enjoying his purple patch as this year has been turning out be great one with already over 1000 runs in international cricket. Having made his international debut at the age of 17 , he has been a promising talent. 

In the ongoing World Cup 2023, he has smashed 376 runs with the help of one century and one half-century. He played a brilliant knock of 129 against Australia and booted the total of the Afghanistan team. With his exceptional run at the World Cup 2023, he is the fourth among the players with most runs in a single World Cup edition before turning 25. 


AB De Villiers - 372 Runs (World Cup 2007)

The stalwart of the Proteas, AB De Villiers has been exceptional throughout his cricketing career. He was known for his exceptional hitting skills with hint of aggressiveness. His best World Cup season was the 2015 edition, where he scored 482 runs including one century and three half-centuries. 

He made his World Cup debut back in 2007 after making his ODI debut in 2005. In his debut World Cup season, he went on to score 372 runs in ten innings including one century and a couple of half-centuries with the highest score of 146. He is now the fifth-highest in this list of players with most runs in a single World Cup edition before turning 25.
