Bangladesh are facing Pakistan in the first Test of their two-match series at Rawalpindi. The Pakistan team batted first in the game and posted 448/6 in 113 overs, carried by the Mohammad Rizwan (171 off 239) and Saud Shakeel's (141 off 261) century.

In reply Bangladesh was led by their experienced batter, Mushfiqur Rahim (191 off 341), as they posted 565/10. They completed the innings with a lead of 117 runs and on the driver's seat in the game. 

Rahim displayed resilience and grit during his stay in the middle. This effort by the batter now stands as the third highest score by a Bangladeshi batters in an away Test match. Here is a look at the top five scores by Bangladeshi batters in away Test matches.

The left-handed Bangladeshi batter came up with a resilient knock in the first Test of Bangladesh tour Sri Lanka. Along with Mominul Haque (127 off 304), Najmul Hossain Shanto laid the platform of a big total for the vistors. Shanto's 163 off 378 played a huge role in taking Bangladesh to a mammoth total of 541/7 before they declared the innings. 

In reply, Sri Lanka posted 648/8 and declared the innings. In their second innings Bangladesh scored 100/2 before the time ran out in the game. The match ended in a draw.

Sri Lanka batted first in this match and posted a massive total of 570/4. The reply was equally resilient from Bangladesh as they scored 638 runs before being bundled out. Mohammad Ashraful laid the foundation of the innings with his 190 off 417 balls. Later Mushfiqur Rahim scored a double hundred and Nasir Hossain also scored a century to stretch Bangladesh's lead to 68. 

At their second dig Sri Lanka posted 335/4 before declaring the innings. In the last innings Bangladesh scored 70/1 before the overs ran out and the game ended in a draw. 

3. Mushfiqur Rahim - 191 (341) vs Pakistan at Rawalpindi in 1st Test (2024)

Pakistan posted 448/6 in the game before declaring the innings in the first innings of the match. In reply, Bangladesh started off steadily and the position of the team was strengthened by a brilliant hundred by Mushfiqur Rahim. The experienced Bangladesh batter was all set to reach the second double hundred of his Test career. However, Mohammad Ali ended his stay at 191 (341). Bangladesh posted 565 runs powered by Rahim's knock.

2. Mushfiqur Rahim - 200 (437) vs Sri Lanka at Galle in 1st Test (2013)

This was the same game where, Mohammad Ashraful scored 190. The Sri Lankan team posted 570/4 before declaring in their first innings. While Ashraful laid the foundation of Bangladesh, it was Mushfiqur Rahim's 200 off 437 balls that guided Bangladesh towards a lad of 68 runs. Along with Rahim, Nasir Hossain also scored a hundred in this game. 

Sri Lanka in their second dig scored 335/4 before declaring. The Bangladesh team scored 70/1 in the last innings of the game before the match ended in a draw.

The biggest star of Bangladesh cricket and their biggest star played one of the best knocks in the history of Test cricket during the 1st Test of Bangladesh tour of New Zealand at Wellington in 2017. Carried by Shakib Al Hasan's 217 (276), Bangladesh posted 595/8 before declaring the innings. 

In reply, Tom Latham led the Kiwi innings with a brilliant 177 off 329 deliveries. They posted 539 before being bundled out and trailed Bangladesh by 56 runs. In the second innings, Bangladesh faced a collapse and were bundled out for just 160. This meant that New Zealand needed 217 to win the game. Courtesy of a brilliant 104 off 90 by Kane Williamson, the hime team managed to win the game by seven wickets. 

Although Shakib's effort ended in a losing cause, it still stays as the highest score by a Bangladesh batter in away Tests and is one of the best Test knocks ever played.
