England's Test skipper Ben Stokes produced a batting masterclass against Pakistan in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, helping their side clinch the coveted trophy. Thus, repeating his feat from the ICC World Cup 2019 Final.

Former Indian middle-order batter Sanjay Manjrekar believes Stokes will be the most sought-after player in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction. The auction is tentatively scheduled for December, where all ten teams will look to build their squads for the 2023 edition.

Stokes, 31, last featured in the IPL in 2021 for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and opted to sit out the 2022 season. The all-rounder has played for the Royals and former franchise Rising Pune Supergiant (RPSG).

Manjrekar, speaking with Star Sports, stated Stokes is a match-winner and brings his A-game when required.

"Ben Stokes, straight away. No. 1 (hottest property). He is a match-winner. If you make it to the playoffs, the big stage. These are the people who come to the party."

Other players who Manjrekar thinks will invite a bidding war in the upcoming auction is ICC T20 World Cup 2022 player of the tournament Sam Curran, and Australia's latest all-round sensation Cameron Green.
