Sanskriti Gupta, a promising young off-spinner, delivered a sensational over for Mumbai Indians Women against UP Warriorz Women in match 11 of the WPL 2025 season. She dismissed Vrinda Dinesh and Tahila McGrath in a single over to dismantle UP’s lineup.

The Mumbai Indians Women and UP Warriorz Women faced each other in the 11th game of the WPL 2025 season. The game was played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. UP Warriorz batted first with Grace Harris (45) and Vrinda Dinesh (33) setting up a 79-run partnership for the second wicket. 

However, Sanskriti Gupta delivered a crucial over that turned the tide in Mumbai’s favour. In the 13th over, she got rid of Vrinda Dinesh and Tahila McGrath in one over to leave UP at 87/4.

Who Is Sanskriti Gupta?

Sanskriti Gupta is a talented Indian cricketer famous for her right-arm off-break bowling and left-handed batting. Born in 2004, in Madhya Pradesh, she began her cricketing journey in the sixth grade.

Her early passion for the sport was nurtured by a family with a rich sporting background; her father and uncles were actively involved in various sports.

To further her cricketing career, Sanskriti moved to Shahdol, where she played divisional matches. Her commitment saw her join the government-sponsored Women's Cricket Academy in Shivpuri in January 2022.

In WPL 2025, Sanskriti has played few games, but provided vital breakthroughs to take Mumbai Indians Women forward.

While Mumbai Indians Women have secured 2 of the 3 matches played during the year. They won WPL debut season in 2023. They have begun this year in good stead with in-form players at their disposal.
